Route Map

Wide tracks and pretty good under foot. I wore trainers on this walk which suited me fine. Intitially I dropped down a winding track then went up some short hills. I came to a bend in the track with another that came in from the left. My route was to the right and the track looked a little over grown. It dropped down and I walked across wooden planks over the river. (No balance needed) The track then wound up, passed a small dam on my left and joined the main track again that led to the monastery.
I dropped down to my left off this track and followed the brown monastery sign, the route then took me back up again. Just up from the monastery there was a track to my left which led to the church ruins. I had to return from the church ruins down the same track. Then I turned left leaving the monastery on my right.
The track at that point was a long winding climb for a few KM's traversing the hillside. There were beautiful views of the forested hills on my left and as I went along. I did so quietly and was pleased to see Mouflon on two occasions. Eventually around the half way point the track levelled off and then started to descend back to the start. I still had views of the mountains and the sea as I went along. I spotted the start point from the mountainside and I took a left turn towards the end that dropped down to below the elevation of the start point and then a right turn that took me back up again.
I did the walk in 1hr 50mins which included wandering around the ruins and stopping a few times for water. It was particularly nice in the early morning wathcing the sun rise over the mountains and light up the valley.
