Lysos 10.5KM - Kinousa/Red Lake Circular

This was a difficult walk with very steep climbs and descents. The steep slopes were slippy with loose stones underfoot but the tracks were wide. Approximately 1.5KM of the walk was on Tarmac/concrete.

The walk started at Ayios Georgios Church, the track took us up a steep climb to the Fire Look Out building which was manned. Then we traversed the range of hill tops till we got to a pagoda overlooking Kinousa. The route to the pagoda was up and down very steep slopes.

After the pagoda, it was a steep slippy descent levelling out into an easier walk down, which then took us to the red lake. The route from the red lake to the road approximately 1.5KM from the start point, was on wide tracks. There was one tricky steep down hill section, slippy with loose stones. Then there was a final climb from the valley up to the road which was challenging. Once on the road it was a gradual gradient till we reached the church where we started.
